The short answer
You need to contact NSFAS
The whole question
If I'm getting the monthly R350 from SASSA, can NSFAS approve my application?
The long answer
What SASSA says is that if you are receiving a NSFAS stipend, you will not qualify for the R350 SRD.
What NSFAS says is that you will have to send details of any SASSA grant you are receiving to NSFAS with your application. But it’s not clear if they mean a SASSA grant that your parents are getting or the SRD grant that you are getting. They say, “Should you be getting funds from SASSA, you also would need to send your SASSA details to NSFAS.”
So, nothing is crystal clear here.
Perhaps the best thing is to contact NSFAS and ask them directly at:
Email: email@example.com (link sends email)
Facebook: National Student Financial Aid Scheme
NSFAS Connect: www.nsfas.org.za (link is external) and log into your myNSFAS account
Wishing you the best,
