Are you a good communicator with research skills? We need you!

GroundUp is looking for a highly competent communicator, who also has research skills.

You will help advise the growing number of readers who write to us requesting advice. You will also help run our marketing, manage our social media pages and electronic newsletters, and help with fact-checking. 

If you're a graduate looking for a way into journalism, and want to join a dynamic, growing organisation that has a big impact on South African media, then this may be the job for you.

You need to be able to

  • write in clear and concise English;
  • research a wide variety of topics, such as social grants, housing, immigration laws, and crime stats; and
  • communicate easily, clearly and politely with people.

Being able to speak fluent Xhosa or Afrikaans is a bonus.

You must have graduated successfully from a university or technical college with at least a three-year degree or diploma. The position is at our office in Cape Town.
