Religious leaders gather where 18-year-old lost his life

Students, teachers, parents, religious leaders and other community members gathered at Ihlumelo Senior Secondary School today in Mbekweni for a prayer service after the fatal stabbing of Grade 12 student Avile Nkontywana on Monday morning.

Nkontywana, 18, was killed on the first day of the school term.

Gathering at the scene where he was stabbed on his way to the boys’ toilets, religious leaders prayed for principal Lulekwa Bhunguzana, the Grade 12 class and the school.

Bhunguzana thanked the Mbekweni community for their support.
