March through District Six to have it declared heritage site

On Heritage Day, Saturday 24 September, hundreds of people marched through District Six to demand restitution and that it be made an official heritage site.
An ensemble of brass instrument players entertained the crowd.
Ridwaan Solomons was one of the many colourfully dressed participants at the march.

There was also a Heritage Day celebration in Khayelitsha.

Mama Ntutuzelo sells food to Ntombi Jikelo. There was a large variety of local cuisine for people to buy.
