Panel at Ndifuna Ukwazi debate

Yesterday evening Ndifuna Ukwazi (Dare to know) hosted a seminar at Lookout Hill in Khayelitsha on nuclear power for South Africa. About 50 people attended.

The panelists included Prof. Phillip Lloyd of the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Peter Becker of the Koeberg Alert Alliance and Andrew Kenny, an independent consultant. Ndifuna Ukwazi tried several times to get someone from Eskom, without success.

The focus of the debate was on the cost of nuclear power and whether more affordable and better alternatives are available. Lloyd and Kenny argued in favour of nuclear power, while Becker argued against. Ndifuna Ukwazi intends to make a recording of the debate available on their website.
