Youths celebrate Guy Fawkes in Mfuleni near Main Road, yesterday.

Without the money for fancy fireworks and with only the occasional cracker, youngsters in Mfuleni have come up with their own game to celebrate Guy Fawkes on 5 November.

First, youngsters mix water with chalk to make paint.

The fun begins, throwing chalk water paint at each other.

The guys duck and dive as paint flies from all directions.

Some are faster than others.

Taunting your opponents and posing as a character heightens the fun.

Victory claimed on the streets. In the bags are an assortment of weapons to throw - old fruit, wastepaper, stale bread.

Until next year, November 5.
